Faith Education
At Evergreen Catholic Schools, our Catholic faith is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be Catholic - and fully welcoming to all. Whether your family is Catholic, from another faith tradition, or has no religious affiliation, you belong here.
Grounded in Sacred Scripture and Tradition, and guided by the teachings of the Church, we strive to form students who grow intellectually, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. We believe every child is created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore deserving of dignity, respect, and love.
Both Catholic and public schools in Alberta:
- Are publicly funded
- Follow the same Alberta curriculum
- Employ certified teachers
- Offer transportation and diverse programming
What makes Catholic schools distinct is the integration of faith into all aspects of school life - through prayer, values, sacramental life, and a shared commitment to seeing God in all things.
What to Expect in a Catholic School
If your child has never attended a faith-based school, you can expect a nurturing environment where faith is integrated into daily life.
- Faith is woven into all subjects through a process called permeation
- Students participate in religion classes several times each week
- Prayer is part of the daily routine
- Students take part in liturgies and celebrations throughout the year (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter)
- Service, kindness, and respect are emphasized in all interactions
Our goal is to help students recognize God’s presence in the world and in one another.

GrACE - Grateful Advocates for Catholic Education
Catholic education is a partnership between home, school, and parish.
- Students attend school Masses and liturgical celebrations
- Families are always welcome to attend
- Clergy regularly visit schools to support faith life
- Sacramental preparation is typically coordinated through local parishes (with school support)
Students who have received First Communion may participate in the Eucharist at school Masses, while others are always welcome to receive a blessing.
