The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity. Christians embrace the mystery of the Holy Trinity, that God is Three in One. The Holy Spirit is the sanctifier, sent by the Father and the Son to complete the work of Jesus. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit in our baptism (Ephesians 1.13). The gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord (CCC 1831). The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5. 22-23).
