Principal's Message - June

June 13, 2017

Dear Parents,

We find ourselves at the close of yet another school year and reflecting on all that has come to pass. I trust and hope that the rich abundance of activities that our students participated in this past year has left them with strengthened friendships and fond memories of this school year.

It is difficult to capture the many dynamics of a school community to be able to relay an understanding of what it is like to live in it. One aspect that clearly weaves through every facet of our school is our authentic and genuine commitment to Catholicity. Living out our faith and our Gospel values is central in all that we do. The Catholic character of this community truly does make St. Gregory Catholic School a school that is distinctively different.

A huge THANK-YOU needs to go out to all of our parent volunteers this year that helped out in so many ways to assist our school; your time and efforts and prayers do not go unnoticed and we truly appreciate the donation of your time. You help to make our school so great! In addition, we wish to thank the School Council for their relentless and tireless work and for their never ending support to the staff and students of Saint Gregory.  We express our appreciation to the executive council; Alicia Humphries & Nicole Fellows (Co-Chair & Hot Lunch), Bonnie Onufruw (Vice-chair), Amanda Parker (Secretary) Shelby Donkin (Treasurer), Amy Begg/ Bonnie Onufruw (Milk & popcorn program).

Please review our calendar for important dates and events that are happening here this month, in particular our year –end liturgy and the grade 4 graduation celebration happening June 29th. We extend an invitation to everyone to attend.

We are excited to extend a probationary contract to Mrs. Stonehouse, who will remain with us teaching grade 1, and we are very excited to introduce Mr. Adrian Gaudet, who will be assigned to teach grade 3 next year.

Some additional changes next year will see Ms. Niwa teaching our new grade 1 & 2 combined homeroom and Mrs. Willis teaching grade 2.

We look forward to the safe return of all our students on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 when our new school year begins. To our graduating grade 4 students, we wish you heartfelt thanks for your contributions to our school throughout these past years and many successes in your future endeavours. We will miss you!

 God Bless
